   Cleaning Solution

           Mix approximately 50 ml of gentle dish washing liquid for cleaning (for transparent crystalline gems) or 50 ml of household ammonia, Mr. Clean, Windex or Fantastic (for diamonds, rubies, sapphires) and 200 ml of water. Stir well. Heat the solution slightly in the microwave or use an old pot for a stove top method to heat the solution, and then remove it from the heat source. Pour a small amount into your bowl and place your jewelry (silver or gold) into solution and let them sit for about five minutes. Brush the articles gently. Use another bowl of warm water to rinse away the cleaning solution. Rinse well, as any cleaning residue may irritate your skin.  Use a soft lint free cloth to pat it dry.
